Meadows Montessori School
The greatest gifts we can give our children are the roots of responsibility and the wings of independence.
Meadows Montessori School (MMS) is an Association Montessori Internationale (AMI) Recognized school and a Washington State Department of Children, Youth, and Families (DCYF) licensed childcare facility. All of our Lead Guides hold AMI diplomas, bringing extensive Montessori training and a deep understanding of child development to their classrooms.
Serving children from 15 months through 12 years of age, Meadows supports children and families in realizing their full potential through an authentic Montessori education. Our school community includes an Assistants to Infancy (Toddler) classroom, two Children’s House classrooms, one Lower Elementary classroom, and one Upper Elementary classroom.
Meadows is committed to providing a high-quality Montessori education with affordable tuition while serving an economically, racially, and culturally diverse community. Our curriculum embraces a whole-child, place-based approach that nurtures independence, curiosity, confidence, and a lifelong love of learning.
Located just north of Bellingham on over five acres, our property benefits from organic gardens, a small orchard, laying hens, wool producing sheep, and the surrounding conservation lands.

“Meadows Montessori School's beautiful, natural campus offers unique opportunities for nature-based learning which other schools cannot provide. Some of my children's favorite school activities include: caring for the resident sheep and chickens, picking apples to make apple butter, and raising small salmon fry to release into the creek that runs right behind the school property. My children experience both personal empowerment and a strengthened connection to nature through these activities. We really could not ask for a more perfect place for them to grow and learn.”
